Friday Things

This pic sums up my week pretty well.  I spent most of my mornings (when I’m up early enough before leaving for the office), working on the blog.  There is nothing better than sitting outside with a nice cup of coffee working on my laptop.  I dream of being able to do this every day.

Luckily this week has been a relatively quiet one.  Possibly due to the short work week.  Today I’m taking a friend out for a birthday lunch at Shack Shack!  She’s never been and is dying to try it.  I’ll take any excuse to have a burger.

I signed up for CoSchedule this week.  I’m so in love with this service!  It allows me to plan out my blog posts for the month and beyond as well as schedule my posts on social media.  It even has a “re-queue” service that allows me to keep up with Twitter and Pinterest.  My favorite part might be scheduling my Instagram pics. I’d really love to be able to curate my feed. This is going to be a game changer for me.  I should be able to get on track if I sit down for a long weekend and get all of my files together.  I’m looking forward to the opportunity to have time to grow my blog instead of just maintaining it.

I’ve found over the years that I’ve struggled with executing this blog for fun and trying to pursue it as a business.  I’m still struggling.  It’s challenging working on a blog while working full-time and being a single mom!  I started this blog because I love the process of baking and I wanted to push my boundaries with cooking.  And to some extent, I’ve succeeded.  Over time, however, I’ve learned so much about social media, photography, css and have made many connections.  I still don’t know how far I’m going to push this, but I’m having a lot of fun finding out.
