Toro Toro

Toro Toro has been on my brunch radar for a while, but I haven’t had the chance to try it.  I did, however, have a chance to try their happy hour.  I was very pleasantly surprised. Toro Toro’s happy hour menu was fairly extensive with cocktails running $5 and nibbles from $5 to $12.

I went with a co-worker and we started with margaritas.  It was your standard margarita, but still good.

We decided to share the chicken tacos and truffle fries.  The chicken tacos were small, messy and delicious! After we ate them, the size turned out to be just right.  It left just enough room for the fries.

Truffle fries are a classic and you can never go wrong with them.  I love the hint of truffle and the sprinkle of parmesan cheese.  I basically ate the whole bowl.

While we were sipping on our second margarita, a bartender came over with two cocktails.  It seemed that they were doing a photo shoot of their cocktails and needed someone to drink them.  My friend and I happily obliged 🙂

I had the pisco sour.  Since I’m not an egg fan, I tend to stay away from drinks that have egg whites in them, but I really enjoyed this cocktail.  Had I not ordered a margarita, I would’ve order this.  I’m definitely going to add Toro Toro to my happy hour list and it’s motivated me to go back for brunch.  I’ve heard great things about their smoked guacamole!
