I’ve walked by Eatsa a couple of times before it opened but couldn’t figure out what it was. I assumed by the name it was food related, but I couldn’t tell where or how the food was being served. Then I forgot about the place until my boss came by my desk one afternoon telling me about a cool new place he discovered for lunch. Yep. Eatsa. As soon as I heard him describe the place like being in the Jetsons, I knew I had to go there to try it for myself.
This place is pretty cool! There’s no counter or wait staff. You simply walk up to one of the kiosks with an iPad and punch in your order. The menu is quinoa focused with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The bowls also come either hot or cold. While I don’t think I would ever sit down with a plate of quinoa, a little bit couldn’t hurt.
Since I’m not a huge fan of mushrooms, I decided to go with the hummus and falafel bowl. It came with olives, lemon quinoa, tomato and cucumber salad, falafel, hummus, tzatziki feta cheese, pita chips and tahini dressing all on top of arugula. You have the option of making any changes that you want, but since it was my first time, I went with their recommendation.
Once you place your order, you can see you name in a queue on the back wall above all of the cubbies.
It’s like being at the Apple Genius Bar.
When your food is ready, you will see your name appear on the glass door of the cubby then tap in the top right corner of the glass and the door opens with your order. In this case, I ordered a bowl for myself and my boss, so I requested a bag for the items. How cool it that?!?
In addition to being delicious, I was amazed at how filling it was. And for only $6.95. While I would never, ever give up meat completely (I’m way too addicted to burgers and bacon), I love the idea of having such a filling veggie option for lunch.
It’s so good. I’m addicted to creating my own now!
That looks delicious! So cool and such a great option for a speedy and healthy lunch!
What a cool place! I’m with you and I love meat, but this is definitely a good alternative.
looks so interesting! I’ like to try it
