I spent my four days in Detroit reuniting with Miles, catching up with friends and trying to eat at as many places as possible since my hometown has turned into a foodie town! I was lucky enough to catch up with a dear friend where we had lunch at Spencer in downtown Ann Arbor.
This lovely little spot changes their menu every week and this particular week had a Cambodian influence. The menu was short and sweet and we decided to share a kale salad and báhn mi.
This was one of the best salads I’ve had in a long time. Everything was super fresh and crisp. And the dressing was fantastic.
The báhn mi was just as tasty. I have to admit that I’m not a huge fan of chicken liver or any liver for that matter, but the sandwich was still very good. I will fully admit to removing the liver mousse towards the end of my half of sandwich. I think it brought back too many childhood liver and onions memories.
I loved the food and catching up with my old friend even more. I hope I’m able to make time to come here again the next time in town to try whatever they’re serving up next!
