The first warm weather holiday of the season is finally upon us. I think it’s officially grilling time!
The weather here has been in the mid to high 80s all week, making my 1 1/2 miles trek to the Metro challenging. I’m trying not to turn into a sweat box by the time I get to the office!
I’m really looking forward to cranking up my grill and making another brisket. I really need to push through my fear of over grilling meats.
I’ve also recently discovered that grilling bacon is a thing. Why didn’t any of my friends think of this sooner!
I can’t think of a better way to start summer or bbq season with this strawberry peach sangria.
This weekend also means that the school year is coming to an end and that Miles will be leaving for the summer. While this always brought on tearful goodbyes, as he’s starting to grow into his teens, my frown is turning upside down (just a little) when he leaves. This only lasts for a week, then I’m trying to facetime him daily.
What better way to finish off a since summer meal that with key lime ice cream sandwiches?
And don’t forget about those brisket leftovers. There’s always the ultimate cornbread brisket grilled cheese.
