Anita’s Kitchen has been around forever. I’ve driven past it at least 1,000 times, but never went in. One of my good friends has an office nearby and suggested that we go there for lunch. I’m so glad she did!
I started off with a glass of Rocket Fuel, a blend of carrot, celery, beet and apple juice. It was so refreshing! It took me back to the days when I used to juice all the time and home and motivated me to start up again at home. Well, almost!
I then moved on to the Spinach Pie which was served with tabbouleh and rice pilaf. Another welcomed treat. I made spinach pie often before my son was born, but since he doesn’t like spinach, I stopped. This was delicious! I never had it with cottage cheese and feta before. It gave the pie a nice creamy texture.
I’m so sorry that it took me so long to come here, but I will definitely put it on my rotation when I’m back in Detroit!
