Today’s pic is from the National Gallery of Art East Building at the Smithsonian. I can’t believe I just discovered the towers that display paintings of one of my favorite artists Mark Rothko! As you can see, Miles wasn’t very impressed. But he was nice enough to walk with me all around the building.
What a week! Miles left for the summer which leaves me conflicted. I’m so sad to see him go, but at the same time, my summer finally begins! I have a month to have as much adult fun as possible. I’ve spent most of this week as a suburbanite, staying with my bf and taking the metro into the city. Surprisingly the commute isn’t that bad, and I have a pretty nice view of the trees for most of the ride. I’m such a city girl that the thought of living in the ‘burbs makes my stomach churn, but I have to admit, that this is kinda fun. But at the same time, it’s new and novel, and I think the novelty would wear off after a few weeks.
Miles was lucky enough to leave just as a major heat wave entered the city! It’s been so hot here the past couple of day I feel like I’m going to melt literally. I’d love to start the day with a cool coffee ice cream bar or sit down with a bowl of toffee crunch ice cream to cool off.
I’m really hoping that the skies will stay clear tonight so I can have a little nosh at La Jambe for Bastille Day 🙂
