This is where my head has been all week. Unfortunately, not in a fun way. Along with the cold weather that’s moved in (77 degrees), it’s also the start of fall allergy season and my head has been cloudy all week!
Things are finally beginning to settle after the first couple of back-to-school weeks, and our routine is taking shape at last. And as you know, pumpkin season is sneaking upon us. I’ve never been a huge pumpkin fan, but over the years I’ve been taken over.
And…….pumpkin season is sneaking upon us. I’ve never been a huge pumpkin fan, but over the years I’ve been taken over. Just the other day I discovered Pumpkin Joe Joe’s at Trader Joe’s and tried not to eat the entire box in one sitting. I don’t know how I missed them before! I think I was too focused on peppermint Joe Joe’s.
Another fun fact. I just read an article this morning about canned pumpkin not really being made from pumpkin (again probably not new to most). It’s mostly squash. Still glad I took the time to make a butternut squash pie.
I’m also looking forward to trying more pumpkin treats. I just have to think of them!
Bread baking is also on my to-do list. More challah, sourdough (maybe), pretzels and rye. Marble rye. I may be pushing the envelope with that one.
